-Roof Truss :all members of the framework structure held in position together by a system of assembly -Tie Beam : Horizontal member of framework which relieves the effort supported by the principal roof rafters. -Principal Rafter : Principal roof rafters which follow the roof slope on which the purlins are fixed. -Purlin :The ridge purlin indicates the peak beam, and the intermediary purlins are fixed to the rafters sloping down on each side of the roof. -Top plate beam : Beam placed on the top of a stone or brick wall. The top plate beam serves as a support for the rafters. -Rafters : Beams of wood fixed at regular intervals which join the ridge purlin, the intermediary purlins and the top plate beam. -Batten : Floor boards(battens sub-flooring) which are nailed to the rafters. -Hip of roof : Triangular roof purlin |
